How to Stop massive RSS pings

I've got a few idiots who've set their rss readers to minute updates, and are generating 2-3000 hits in my logs. Although it's not that much traffic, all I need is a few of them to ruin my day.

Is there any way of either throttling them back, notifying them specifically to stop or some other way. I remember some sites have something that displays when your rss reader is to snap happy...

I'm not running php but Domino. Any advise appreciated.
