RSS feed - Setting URL parameters

Hi

I have a website that uses an RSS feed. Using magpie.
the xml file (from the rss feed) has the usual

Example (shortened)
<title> page name </title>
<link> link.here.anywhere</link>
<description>yada yada yada yada yada</description>

so here is the question. Is there a way to force the rss feed to limit to x amount of news items and to force it to show the description as well.

Currenty the newsfeed simply has the link on my page. Or at least th title with the link as target..
