cant install blogs from blogger.com

Help needed

hi,
Iam not able to pulish blogs. I used blogger.com automatic tool for the same. I do see the files in my folder (htdocs) but they are not accessible
Please guide me. If there are other options to have a blog on website (using powweb's tool), I am open to using those.
I dont know databases etc. So easiest method is preferred.

Rozy, to use blogger to publish a blog on your site, you do not need to know anything about databases. What you will need to know is your FTP information for your hosting.

You need to enter that in the publishing settings on your blog settings.

If I had to guess you might be trying to publish to the wrong folder on the server.

Use a regular FTP program to log into your server, and navigate to the folder you want the blog to go. I have used servers that take me to something like this:

/usr/home/log-in-name/ and my blog would be a subfolder of this:
/usr/home/log-in-name/public_html/blog/

If you are trying to publish the files live you would need to enter: /usr/home/log-in-name/public_html/blog/

Since you can see your files, on the server, it seems like they are just not going to the proper folders. You may also want to ask your hosting provider what folder the files need to be in?

Thanks for the response. My server directory structure use 'htdocs' just like public_html.
The way i started was first make a foder called 'blogs' in htdocs and I wanted all files to be published there. I guess the approach was right . so the path is something like
/usr/htdocs/blogs/

I dont know why you hve this ..log-in-name thingy. May be I missed out on that.. Is this login name of ftp log in ID?

I am on a shared server so mine would be this, for the log in name "werty"

/usr/home/werty/
/usr/home/werty/public_html/blog/

I just thought you may not be placing the folders in a folder that is being displayed online.

Try putting a regular html file in that folder using your ftp software and see if you can view it?

Thanks, Yes its published now.
I now face one more problem! IT allows me to run only one ad using adsense while I want it to be totallycustomizable so as to run ads and affiliates.
Can you advice me how to do that?

You will need to adjust your template to incorperate more adsense ads. If you used one of the default templates they should be pretty nicely documented, within the code and you canfigure out where to place them.
