Okay, I want to add a headlines section to the main page of my site. It is fine if the headlines link to articles on other sites.
What do I need to do to set up a RSS feed where the headlines are automatically updated in my niche?

You would need to subscribe to a feed service. A lot of them will provide you with some JavaScript that you can simply drop into your template. That JavaScript will pull in the latest feeds on the topics you specify.
