I've seen a bunch of threads on this, but I swear this one is different:

1. We would like to promote the content of the blogs we have by syndicating them to partner sites
2. We intend to provide full content via the blogs and we know this probably can lead us to duplicate content penalities.

So the question is:
Can we mitigate the penality, by asking all partners that use our content to link to a public XML feed link that is hosted back at our web site?

This way, the search engines would the originator of the content that is on the partner's web site.

Are search engines this fancy yet? Is there another way?

Doubt it.

The thing to do is to get the SEs to index the original page of content. Once indexed, get other sites to copy and to link back to your original page.
