I'm told firefox will display some sort of a message when a site has RSS enabled?

Yes, it appears as an icon in the status bar.

Insert the following into the header of your homepage (or main page with the RSS feed):-

<link href="http://www.example.com/some.rss" rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="TITLE OF YOUR RSS FEED" />

This info was helpful to me as well... thanks :)

Another question though... does RSS work with Internet Explorer as it doesn't appear to?

Thanks :)

Fixed it, just a stupid typo in the URL.

For those who don't know, just a little image in the bottom right.

And it works for multiple RSS feeds
