I'm building a site with an RSS feed. Experienced RSS users will know how to copy the url for the .xml page into their news reader.

I need to offer a small list of news reader programs that will auto-load the .xml page into the program. That way, the user is not faced with the confusing XML code and think it's "broken".

NetNewsWire for the Mac is one program I know that auto-displays a feed when I click the link to a site's RSS feed. Also, Safari 2.0 does the same.

Does anyone know of Windows or browser-based programs that will do the same?

Custom Reader allows this.
Just add feed: before the xml link

Thanks again for the suggestion. I read a not-so-flattering review of Custom Reader on download.com. I think I need to keep searching for something that is idiot-proof.

Dont worry about the reviews at Download.com
I am involved with Custom Reader and the review was very biased from a competitor.
I can show you lots of websites (extremely large) who are using this reader at this time.
Never take anyones word for how a software works until you try it yourself.
The reader has everything you could want in a reader and even deals with all security problems you will get in other readers that could be extremely dangerous to your users.

Not to mention you brand the reader in "real time" from an online control panel.
It is even capable of reporting statistics from your users if you/they so choose.
Try a search in google for democp and you will see the online manage panel.
