RSS without PHP or ASP

I know serach engines wont index the content and most browsers wont display it but...

I want to know how to display an RSS file using only javascript.

I can display it ok as text, I just cant get the links to become links.

Can anyone show me a short example?

(also how do I get an RSS field into a Javascript string/array?)
