Godaddy doesn't support RSS?

I'm trying to add RSS to my travel site. I created an RSS file with an online generator, saved it as an RSS file, put it up on my hosts server (godaddy), but cannot access the file with a browser and it get's a 404 error when validators attempt to analyze it.
Godaddy techs say they don't support the .rss extension.
Is there a way to do rss (create headlines and summary feeds) if my host doesn't support the format?

the feed file itself should have /rss as the last
line of the feed file, however the name of the feed
in the URL can have an extension of .xml
like www.examlpe.com/feed.xml instead of /feed.rss
try it, hope this helps, good luck, I'm just learning myself.

I recreated the feed and saved it with the .xml extension......and once again the server doesn't serve it up.
Anyone have experience setting up an RSS feed (especially from a godaddy account)?
