The descriptions for the fields in the Froogle feed indicate that the "isbn" field (if included) can only contain numeric characters. I am certain that the letter "X" is valid as the 10th character. This is the check digit, and sometimes the ISBN check digit formula dictates that the digit should be 10. In this case, an X is used as the check digit.

This doesn't impact me (yet), but I was wondering if "X" is infact accepted, or if they will reject the feed (or at least the line).

The "X" character in the ISBN field has not generated any errors in our book feeds to froogle.

Thanks Carl. Since it has been in use for awhile, that is kind of what I had expected. Today I received a reply from Froogle support saying "Please feel free to include the letter 'X' in your ISBN field." They didn't indicate whether it had always worked (and the field description was wrong) or that the 'X' would now work because they had fixed it. Your experience confirms that it was just the description.
