I was watching access logs and saw a visitor come from Froogle. So I took the exact URL string from Froogle (which contained the search text) - and put in in the URL string in IE. [keep in mind I tried this seconds after... as well as a few hours after the visitor came to our site.]

I was quite confused when I saw it came back with 7 listings... and our site/product was not one of them.

This is quite confusing.

I have a thought.. but not sure how to test. In mid-Aug. something happened on Google to where our ranking and traffic fell drastically. It has now been 3 months and our traffic is still WAY down... but our PR is now up to a PR6 and even our Alexa rating went up. I'm wondering if perhaps somehow our site is only being displayed on certain Google/Froogle datacenters. Is this possible? If so, it would explain why I can't recreate how someone came to our site from Froogle.

I've experienced something similar on Google as well, where a customer (referring URL) will come from us from a Google search on page 4.... then I go do the same search and I drill down to page 40 and still cannot find our site.

PLEASE HELP - 3 months has completely drained me (and my bank account) - if I can't figure this out I will have to close the site.

Hi AprilS

Not a good prob you have. Ignore your PR and your alexa ranking. These are not relevant to your problem. (Having PR6 a year ago & still being invisible would have been very different)

Google does have various DCs. Approx 9 or 11 I seem to recall. Trying viewing your SERPs from different countries by using the IP (proxy) list shown at stayinvisible.com and see whats showing up as seen by people in those countries. That might give you some clues. Chances are its the same issue with Froogle.

How old is the site and how many links do you have from DIFFERENT sites - regardless of PR. Is the Sandbox part of your problem?

You haven't got an Adwords campaign running that is being displayed on Froogle when your term is searched for? It might still register it it as coming from froogle.

No, we don't have any adwords running that are conflicting with the test searches we are doing on Froogle.

We currently have about ~300 sites linking to us. It is sort of hard to get a good number because one site that is linking to us (has a PR7) is linking to us from every single page on their site (approximately 800 pages). Regarding your other question, the site is about 3.5 years old.

Is the Sandbox part of your problem?
I don't think so. Is there a "for sure" way to know if it has been sandboxed? Google still shows backlinks for us, and I still see all of our pages indexed.
