Hi guys,
I hope some one can help me out on this:
I have validated my site and I get an ERROR invalid line on EVERY line, i.e. line1
ERROR Invalid line:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

This being the case I obviously get,
We're sorry, this robots.txt does NOT validate.

I take it for granted that unless everything is clean and tidy nothing will happen,or am I missing something here?
I am an absolute newbie at this.

I looks as though you are trying to validate an html page on a robots.txt validator. If what you are trying to do is validate your pages, you should do that with an HTML validator, e.g. http://validator.w3.org/ [validator.w3.org].
