Make cursor jump from one line in a form to the next after pushing ent

In a form how do you make a cursor jump to the next form question after hitting enter or after desired amount of characters have been entered (like ss#).

Im not completely sure if I am right but most form tricks that I know of are done by using javascript, try that forum, they may be of more assistance.
