Internet users oppose storage of queries

Most Americans are uncomfortable with the fact that Internet search engines record their users' queries, according to a survey released Wednesday that examined perceptions about federal authorities' demands for such records.

As a nurse in graduate school, I do a lot of research for papers and projects. Often times I start with Internet searches before I head to academic sources. My searches are all kinds of weird keywords for a variety of symptoms and diseases (some common, many not).

If anyone saved all of my searches and looked for a pattern, they'd probably stay 100 feet away from me, thinking I had a bunch of weirdo medical problems.

Either that, or they'd say 100 feet away from me, think I had a bunch of weirdo psychological problems!

My girlfriend is in her PhD program now, and if anyone saw her searches, they'd probably think she's a stalker. About 98% of her searches are people's names.
