American crayfish are causing major subsidence problems in the UK river systems ..and terrorising wildlife and fishermen so say the BEEB in tonights PM prog ..;))

No link yet on their home page ..there is a listen again tho ..

Just tell me where...I'll be there with my net and my Primus. I've been an angler all my life and never seem one bigger than 5cm. Its not April 1st is it?

Not an april the first ..They ran a peice lasting around 7 minutes on it this evening in the PM program at about 18.35 or so ( a little over half way through the prog if you "listen again" via their site )..

They mentioned another slightly smaller but more ferocious species aswell about 7" long is also making headway in the UK and threatening the indigenous species which is ususally only 5cm long and "timid" ..

( obviously not a "geordie version that one " )

BTW pay close attention if you install the real player to "listen again" it tries to become the default opening app for many things ..do a manual install and make sure that you untick all file types ..otherwise if it goes wrong ..you cant look at anything ..
