I can understand detention for a violation of the AUP, but arrested at school? Give me a break!

They think it is a DDOS run from his site?..(F5 is an "open new window to same page" request ..as you know )..non techies might make the mistake and think that he was DDOS'ing the school system ..if he was he would have to be pretty dumb to do it that way ..if he wasn't ..well some school IT tech people are way dumber than they let the "board" think when they handed in their CV's ..

Police say the student created a website, which connected to the school's system.

Uhmm...if he was caught hacking into/gaining unauthorized access to the schools system (state/govt owned) I believe that would be enough.

Well assuming it wasn't pron, gambling or drugs then maybe the kid should be told off, but nothing more than that. It's good experience to learn how systems work and how to crack them -- maybe someone should hire him on as an apprentice.
