- Ogg Vorbis, mp3PRO, AC-3, Windows Media Audio, MPC and RealAudio at around 80kbit/s perform better MP3 128kbit/s. - At 128kbit/s, Ogg Vorbis and MPC performed marginally better. - At 64kbit/s, AAC and mp3pro performed marginally better.

Could you indicate which player or encoder should I get to read .mpc extension files... I have tried to search on the net but get too many results...

MPC are musepack files - google "musepack" to reach the offical website of musepack. You can download the plugin/player you are looking for from there.
