Most shops are closed during 12.00 til 14.00
Most businesses like wise..
Our economy is a basket case held up by EU agricultral funds..
Most people drink alcohol during their lunch break so are next to useless and dangerous on the roads after ..
They begin again at 17.00 hours!
Some start at 07.00 am ( the guys who drive the rubbish collection trucks for the local "city hall" have usually had 2 or 3 somewhere in a bar with their coffeee and their mates )..before they get to work ..as have most artisans who work outdoors ..
We have Europes highest road accident death figures ..and they only count those who die within 3 days of the accident!
Back to lunch ..
Me ..I take the time it takes to read some emails and to eat lite ..about 15 to 30 minutes ..
Dinner however can take a couple of hours to fix ..and the same to eat .. and drink ..
So I don't take a lunch break :).
So basically on a slow day/week...we take like 1 & 1/2 hour lunchs...sometimes just don't even go back to work (if it's cool with management of course).
Now on busy days? ha....we stop at the corner store and load up on munchies and work for 15 hours straight....occasionally going to the bathroom...consuming WAY too much caffene...so...no lunch hour.
Take today for example...we're going for pizza...we're dead...haha....
I think because i work a 9-5.30ish it doens't require lunch break as the office never stops. I love the way the spanish/italians/french work things but it doesn't seem to go with good business sense.
On a recent trip to italy we stoped at a 24 hour garage to discover they close every day between 12 and 3!
There is nothing worse that going some place to eat by yourself and just sitting there staring at the wall.
Length of lunch, usually short...45 min.
