Sometimes it's really difficult to understand things around here. It's like a guessing game trying to figure out what all the letters stand for, which are frequently used instead of full words.

This is not unique to this forum but it sure is frustrating sometimes for those of us who are new and come to an educational site such as this for the purpose of learning.

Any glossary of terms availble at this site?

Look at the monitor. Then let your eyes slowly glide to the top of the screen. Now, right there, yes! Next to the webmasterworld logo in the top left. There they are, the golden words you have been looking for. Third in the row it reads: "glossary"

Or click here:

LOL!

Ah yes. Thank you. I missed it in there with all the other 7.5 point text.

Here are a few acronyms I just found going through two threads in 5 minutes or less:

PPC, CTR, CJ, indie, eCPM, EPC, CPA, OP, CPC, MLM, AS, RON

In one thread, (finally) someone was kind enough to write it this way the first time the acronym was used: RON (Run of Network).

Now that's really helpful!

Ooops, almost missed this myself: Laughing Out Loud (LOL).

Digicam,
Remember this post when you find yourself facing a blank stare someday after talking about SERPS or CPM or whatever. It is all a buzzing, blooming confusion at first, but soon you will get the hang of it.
Talking about my day's read at WebmasterWorld, acronyms and all, proved to be the antidote to my girlfriend talking on and on about her favorite topics regardless of my level of interest or knowlege in the subject.
This place improved my webmastering skills AND my relationship with my non-computing girlfriend... gotta love it!
