The PC term for failure? ‘Deferred success’

I find this funny

"LOS ANGELES - In 2005, some people wanted the word “brainstorming” replaced by “thought shower” so as not to offend people with brain disorders, and they also wanted ”deferred success” to replace “failure” so as not to embarrass those who don’t succeed."

I was guilty of a thoughtcrime until I read the 'tongue-in-cheek" disclaimer. Sadly, I doubt the veracity of the tongue-in-cheek bit. 'Deferred Success' fits right in with 'outcome-based education'.

Doubleplus ungood indeed.

The term 'deferred success' was much ridiculed here in the UK a couple of months ago! It's inception is featured here, on the BBC [news.bbc.co.uk]

It's creator is a shining example of one who has successfully deferred success!

hahahaha. Thanks for the link, didn't know how it all started.

About self-esteem: "After nearly two decades of teachers, parents and therapists focusing their efforts on boosting children's self-esteem, a team of psychologists led by Florida State University Francis Eppes Professor Roy Baumeister has found no evidence that boosting self-esteem through school programs or therapeutic interventions leads to any positive outcomes."

many are so busy, that they will defer it for the next life. Don't look down on them, we're all equal :)
