So I heard of a study that came out today about coffee.

I went to google news, searched for coffee, and one of the results headlines was:

Matt Cutts Has a Cup of Coffee at PubCon Conference

Cutts having coffee making the news...I guess it's a change from Sprite, but not exactly news ;)

According to a new study, decaffeinated coffee may actually be more harmful than regular coffee. The results of the study, conducted at Stanford University and funded by the National Institutes of Health, suggest a link between decaf coffee and cholesterol.

Us "real" coffee drinkers were cleared for now.

I always knew it... Instead of decaf I try to use grain "coffee" (malt and corn and whoknowswhat) every other cup.

Has anybody of you tried those coffee pads yet? I was considering buying one of those Senseo coffee machines that work with pads.

However a box of pads looks rather expensive to me since I would propably consume it in two or three days.

I had a couple of cups at an office in France and they were awful. I had a couple of cups at a tradeshow in Germany and they were excellent. The one in Germany was this totally-sealed-in-aluminium Senseo stuff, the one in France was little bags (like teabags) sealed in an alimunium bag. So I guess the Senseo stuff preserves the aroma better.

From an ecological, environmental and financial way though I can't really support them.

one of the probelm with the coffee pads is they seam to be proprietery. different manufactures have differnt sizes and such so you have to buy their coffee. This limits your choices and means you can't grind your own. plus they are pricy. I think it is simply easier to use a messuring scoop. after all you can get the little 2 or 3 cup coffee pots

Why?

It's hard to judge what sort of coffee Matt might have been drinking. I read the interview, and the third person reference in some of the answers makes me think it was high powered.

ie.

A: Matt doesn't want to predict the future and he is just an engineer. If he had to predict, he would think no.
