Had some loose wires upon arrival. Paid guy at local guitar shop 20 bucks to resolder connections. This bad boy [musicyo.com] screams for $234 (including shipping and the $20 I paid to make it work right). It has a more brilliant sound than the two solid bodies I have. :)

Sweet. Did that include the Kramer Deluxe Gigbag?

Even though I could never play it, I miss my baby blue strat.

I'm not real familiar with guitars, but isn't that based on a Les Paul? Other than Smoke On The Water and Tom Dooley, my fingers just wouldn't work well enough with my brain to enable me to play any musical instrument. I stuck with words, and wrote bad lyrics for my friend's garage band. ;)

Now when you can play both parts of dueling banjos with that, send me the mp3.

</ nevermind> Just checked G images. Close, but not quite.

Now that you mention a strat, I had one of those in very early 70s. So I guess technically, this is my 4th electric.

It did not include gig bag. And it's not based on Les Paul, which is a solid body. This guitar is a semi-hollow body.

>>And it's not based on Les Paul,

Proof of my ignorance of guitars.;) But with my rudimentary knowledge of acoustics, is it a safe bet that the semi-hollow body is responsible for the brilliant sound you mentioned?

And, why are Les Paul guitars so thick if they're solid? Huh? Eh?

Well it's not based on a Les Paul, but a Les Paul is technically a semi-hollow body (and it sure looks like that Kramer is a full hollow-body.? ) Chill that treble off, bump the mids a little, mmmm you be doing a BB King . . . .

The LP is Still my all-time favorite axe, I've only been able to own cheap imitations. :-(

Quite possible, but I don't know.

but a Les Paul is technically a semi-hollow body

From the Gibson website:

"As Gibson’s first solidbody electric guitar, the Les Paul Model made a lasting impression when it debuted in 1952, and it continues to shape the sounds of popular music today."

it sure looks like that Kramer is a full hollow-body

Nope. From the musicyo website:

"Exclusive Kramer Small-Body semi-hollow design with solid-mahogany center block and hollow wings for great sustain with rich, warm overtones!"

put humbuckers on it ( if it didn't ship with )..file the frets down lo..lo ..lo ....graphite the slots at the head ..and feed it through a marshall...

oh yeah and boil your strings ..

then listen to some mountain ..something maybe from 961 ..and some spirit ..loggins and messina ...( an another band whom I can't remeber the name of but i can hear the tracks and see the album cover ..damn I hate that ..shoulda been cleaner living in my youth and kept more synapses for the important stuff ..i think they had nicky barclay on keyboarsds tho or maybe that was someone else ) ...

anyway ..hope you and your new lover make out fine ..

just visited the link ..and I know that as an old time muso " you can get a tune out of a dead goat and a bicycle pump factory " ..bagpipes to the rest of you " ..iam probably not gonna like the answer ..
but what is a
" tune-o-matic bridge" ...

sounds like something from the wallace and grommit trousers show ..

or does it refer to playing with ones teeth ..cos normally one needs a strat fir dat!

" tune-o-matic bridge" oh they should be ashamed ..weld the damn strings to the machine head and the tremelo arm plate and have done with it ..after all status quo never needed to retune ..nor did stockhausen ..and michael jackson never could hit anything other than high D ..so why do you need a " tune-o-matic bridge" ..

less you are playing dire straights?

b
what does our friendly neighbourhood lawman like to play on his harem..?

Been on Gibsons since about 1954 (Gibson owns Musicyo, which produces the Kramers).

I like any kind of rock-n-roll that makes you want to smash amps and set things on fire. :)

at a certain number of decibels the sound pressure is sufficient to cause skin discoloration , blistering or dislocate physical objects or people ( IE ...blow them back off of the stage ...if they appear threatening ) ..or float them like they were flying if directed vertically ..
remember the band from the hitch hikers guide who had to play on the next planet due to the power of their sound system ..:)))

the stones used to be hearable from 8 miles away ..with their little mobile rig..
when queen and kiki dee , elton john played hyde park we used the PA to ask friends to come from 5 miles away from the site ..worked ..:)

volume and rock ..aaahhh ...:))

whoops drifted your thread OT ..go on play it L

Lawman, Congrats on your new family member! Your new Kramer was based on the design of a Gibson ES335 hollowbody guitar, which later spun-off into BB's Lucille, etc. It looks "hot-rodded" as all Kramers usually are. I used to have a Kramer heavy metal guitar 20 years ago but sold it to buy my first Strat. Now I have 13 guitars (too many pics to post) and I feel like I'm just getting started! My favorite is either my 75 Gibson Les Paul Custom or my Dobro which has been upgraded with an aftermarket P-90 for the ultra raw sounds! FYI Gibsons with a P-90 are the coolest sounding guitars of all time. The most recent gitter I purchased was a baby taylor and that thing is excellent as well. - Cheers

You guys are gonna have to start sharing your mp3's with the rest of us. And yes, I could hear the Stones from about 3 miles away on their last N. American tour. Crank it up!
