Someone who is very dear to me is weighed down by a heavy pressure. And I cannot give her the degree of protection and support that I want to. At least not for the time being.

No, I will not tell you the nature of this pressure. Believe me: You are best served not knowing.

And no: This is not big-strong-man-wanting-to-protect-small-weak-helpless-woman-while-hoping-that-she-stays-weak-and-needing-his-help. Actually I appreciate competent, strong and brave women and this woman certainly is one of them.

But she is exhausted by the pressure. One problem is that in her sleep she does not get the regeneration she needs. She told me: "I want my dreams back."

So I was thinking that some of you might want to help me helping her? If you are one of those people who pray you may occasionally include her in a prayer. And if you don't pray you may send her some kind thoughts and wishes. You may wish for her that she gets back her dreams. Dreams that are rich with beauty and symbolism.

She needs her strength. For herself and for those who need her support. I want to give her back her strength. Any help that you can give will be appreciated.

I'll leave my computer alone for some time now. Go out and enjoy the sunshine. Hug a tree. Watch the streaming water. Try to tune in on the strength and health that nature has to give. Find some more strength and love to send her.

What she is really saying is that she wants her REM sleep back. Try googling it for more info. One usually just needs more sleep, which can be compromised by everything from too many responsibilities to depression. Good luck helping your friend. :)

Thanks for your good wishes and for the suggestion which I indeed intend to use. Of course you are right that her lack of dreams should be seen in the context of what kind of sleep she has and has not. Perhaps I put too much emphasis on the dream thing with my choice of title.
