Hi,

I live abroad and last summer, I had the chance to return to Europe for a month. I went to few camera shops in London and Paris looking for a tool to store pictures from my cameras and found none!

In fact, in most cases, sellers were unable to give me the name of such tool and some didn't even know it exists.

I often go away for few days and take many pictures.
I am looking for a processor-like tool that I can plug directly to my camera (USB) to safely store pictures so that I can clean up my camera. I know I could use my laptop, but I don't want to.

Any name?

You could email the pictures to yourself, then just store then on a usb jumpdrive.

I use Picasa from Google. It's really good at sorting the images and automatically creates thumbnail version for the (a bit tacky) html page it generates.

It's really quite good.

Sitecom mediadrive is probably what you are looking for.

There are also other suppliers that make similar things.

Perhaps walk into a computershop, rather then a photoshop. Funny thing is I see these more often at computer stores.

Thank you for your response.

Dogza: Can't emai pictures to myself because no laptop and in middle of nowhere!

Giggle: I have Picasa, great to enhance pic but again, I do not want to take my laptop.

DoppyNL: This is what I need. A device I can plug directly to the camera to store pictures.

Finally, it's around twice the price of a standard 30GB external hard disk. You'd be better off spending the money on large-capacity memory cards.

Anyone is using a good & cheap mediadrive to store pictures from camera (Canon 350D).

Thanks
