Have you ever published and sold an ebook?

I'm sure most of us have thought about writing a ebook at some point of time, especially since the internet makes it possible to target niche markets easily. Besides, the entry barriers and cost are almost zero.

Has anyone here ever got around to writing one? If yes, how long did it take you? What was the subject? How many copies did it sell? Is it still selling?

If you haven't, do you personally know anyone who has been able to write an ebook and make money from it?

A friend of mine wrote a novel. Last I heard, he sold 4 copies.

I wrote an ebook 2 years ago and sold about 80 copies on Ebay for $9.95 (About $800 gross). It was about the Retail industry. I'm sure it would still sell if I listed it again. Hmmmm, maybe I will...

I have thought about publishing a real book.
But for reasons lawman illustrates, I wouldn't do it for any financial reward.
