Should we call our customers in New Orleans and Louisiana?

Has anyone else done this?

I have 13 customers throughout Louisiana. No one directly in New Orleans but several in small towns next to it. I feel so bad for everyone there..

I was thinking about calling the customers there to see if everything is ok, but then I think that also might come across as wierd. Some haven't ordered in a few months and may not even remember us.

Has anyone else made calls to the area? Southern Mississippi also..

Personally, I think it could be taken in one of two ways. It might come across as caring and compassionate, or it might come across as a tacky way of trying to exploit a disaster to bring your name in front of them in the hopes of more sales, etc.

If you know the customers personally, it should be okay. If you're just an entity to them, it might be different.

Then don't call, they have other things to concern themselves with. Resources, including phone capacity are if not at a breaking point, already broken. If you don't absolutely need to call, don't.

If you have orders in house for people in the area, you might want to try to confirm things before attempting to ship an order. Obviously, some shipments are out of the question. In those cases the customer would likely appreciate (and remember) if you released the funds back to their account.

Then yes, that would be weird.
