Chernobyl and what happened to the people wasn't a fake
Never said it was. I have wondered about Chernobyl myself and what the USSR said happened there. But the fact that she made national news headlines by lying doesn't really make me much inclined to be impressed with her later stuff. Her story is also riddled with factual errors. As a story, it is great. But she did not present it as a story, she presented it as fact, so sorry, I am not impressed with her.
She merely put it into a form which most people can relate to, like a story. There ain't nothing wrong with that because it gets the information out there.
And the photos are real.
So I just don't see how she lied anywhere.

Um... Let's see, like the fact that the story wasn't true?
She didn't go riding out through Chernobyl on a motorcycle. Her father is not a scientist. She took a tour guided trip through Chernobyl with about a dozen other tourists and a tour guide set up through a travel agency. She took a motorcycle helmet with her to do this, so it isn't even like she said "Wow, these are really moving pictures, how can I get people to look at them." She planned a hoax from the very start.
Some of the facts used in her story are fabricated. Which is really sad, because they call into question facts that may be true. All well and good if this was suppose to be a fictional story that tugs at your heartstrings and makes you think about real people. But she told people that it was a true story. She did it not for the good of the people of Chernobyl but as a stupid stunt. You are right, the pictures are still true. So sad that she felt she had to add herself to the "glamour". She turned a very terrible tragedy into the equivilant of dancing hamsters. I somehow doubt that the people of Chernobyl would be amused by her antics.
I think you nailed it. I can take photos of where I live in Mississippi and it looks much worse...
We even have a drunk guy in town who cant remember his name -DUH! thats me!
I dont own a motorcycle - but if thats what you need to create a popular site then "get me a Harley".
Radiation reading at this site 9000 rads - is that bad or just for dramatic effect?
