Quest to pay off my medical bills

I just cracked a tooth!

Last month a visit to the ER set me back a cool grand.

Tonight, while writing a nice little letter to the folks at the hospital telling them I thought $1000 was a bit much for a visit that lasted all of 15 minutes, I was chewing on a pen and cracked a tooth right down the middle!

Anybody care to wager a bet on how much the dentist is going to charge and how many other things he'll find "wrong" that need a fixing?

Stay tuned for the thrilling answers to the following questions:

What will I break next? What will it cost to get that repaired?

Who will get the last remaining credit on my nearly-maxxed out cards? Is the AdWords billing department on their game or will the crafty soulless billmasters at the hospital beat them to the last bit of soon-to-be-revoked credit?

I'm only 22 years old and I'm falling to pieces. Thank god I get to die at the end of this life instead of having to drag around this body for eternity.

Though meager, my AdSense pennies are really saving my butt right now. Thanks G!

1.) Stop chewing pens and eat soft foods
2.) Be careful with stairs, ladders, and high places.
3.) Drive safely
4.) Don't run with scissors
5.) Resist any urges to play in traffic

Following those simple rules should keep you essentially healthy and in one piece. I've followed them my whole life (well, maybe not the "soft foods" bit! ;) ) and am still in pretty good shape even at the ripe old age of 24!

Another good tip is to not let the hospital get your blood pressure up with a high bill. I'm sure they'd love to get another visit out of you! ;) On a serious note, see if they'll dicker on the bill. A hospital will often reduce a bill by quite a lot if you just ask, or if you offer a lower amount in cash right now.

I just got an extra $500 in medical bills from having my baby over a year ago. And I have health insurance.

A friend of mine had an infected tooth and just let it go due to the fact he couldn't aford to fix it. Eventualy it turned into a bone infection in both of his jaws. He now is going to loose all of his teeth and 7-9 grand.

With the risk of touching on politics duely noted and hopefully avoided... I'm glad I live in the UK not the US
