Hi all,

Your going to think this is weird, as I am probably the total opposite of the clever thinking Republican business man. (Not turning this into a political debate, I am not letting any of my political opinions drift in, never fear!).

As you may of read on webmasterworld, last year my girlfriend split up with me, and then I wanted to take up a musical instrument to fill a gap in my life.

I took up bass guitar and I absolutely love it, but recently have borrowed my brothers acoustic guitar, so I can jam with guitarists better (so I understand the instrument more.)

I am giving one of my fellow directors (he used to design and program for me, he is so talented, I made him a director, I need him.) an electric guitar and amp for his birthday. It's nothing special, but it's a creative outlet.

I found when I knew the baSSics of bass and started creating music, all these other amazing vivid, random idea's came into my head, and they were just exceptional. As a result, my adsense is not $1.50 / day anymore, it is $20+ a day. usually averaging out to the higher end, and hitting $30 yesterday for the first time. All white hat, too. This is off on website with only 150-200 visitors. It's just well targeted, useful to visitors and has a simple, effective design.

I wonder, will this instrument have the same effect on him. I told him he can learn tabs off the internet, but also must learn how music works at least on a very basic level and he must learn to create his own music.

We will see if this is just a crazy idea! New school spirituality meets good ol' innovative businessman thinking?

I'll keep you posted. All comments welcome, including 'this has been done a million times', 'you are a complete moron' etc...

Jon

Opening your mind to it's creative side can be very liberating. Travel did for me what playing music did for you. When I came back from a couple of months in Africa I had a hard time keeping up with my own inspiration. Same happened when I went to New York.
