I read recently where some research group said email spam volume is in decline, especially pornography related email. I agree. Most of my inbox junk is pharmacy or refinancing related now. Rauchy stuff is way down, and we're seeing a bit less of all kinds.

Since my company sends a legitimate monthly email newsletter to customers, that's great news. At once time targeted email was a wonderful way to advertise. Will it come back?

How's your level of email spam?

Our spam is down, still annoying but not as much. Our provider (MCI) moved us to a new mail server and they said it would result in less spam, and they were correct. They were implementing some new technology, that I did not understand.

So I suspect there is just as much coming at us, it is just stopped before we see it.

I'm getting spammed to hell, especially by that new virus. Other than that its mostly pills.

Still the same, and lots more log-spam.

The ones on the darkside are finding proxies hard to come buy and spamhaus are doing a good job of hounding spammers and getting them closed down. Email filters are getting much better. The battle will never be completely won but it is getting harder out there for people to Spam.

No decline here. However, I am noticing less blacklist problems with getting my (legitimate, opt-in) newsletter through to the subscribers.

I am getting about 5 a day in my Hotmail at the moment - porn, finance, pharm and surveys mostly.
