I think a large part of it is the generation that grew up with a PC in their bedrooms are coming of working age and have created a surplus in the workforce. That combined with companies cutting back as much as possible and 0 & 1 not being tangible items seem to be a good starting point for their cutbacks.

On the other side I do have a job interview tomorrow....However I don't hope I will get it. in fact I hope they will turn me down. Funny though the jobs interview I go to not realy caring aboult seem to be the ones that land me with the offer. I wonder if I try to hard ¦¦ maybe I'm just less nurvous.
Maybe in 2001 ...Today there are thousands of jobs opening everyday for people with the right experience and willing to relocate if necessary!.
IMO ,despite all the hype about outsourcing , IT/programming is still one of the best career choice in america!.
