my employer made me redundant this week and is not paying wages owed. but i bought and own the company doamin & hosting and also domain name & email hosting. can i
1. back up the web site post it to the company and then delete everything on the server.
2. have all the emails re-directed to me or just cancel all email accounts

any help would be appreciated

I recently witnessed a similar issue, but it turned out the employee who handled the website project registered the domain in his name, but the company actually paid for the service.

If you actually paid for this service yourself, I suggest you first talk your former employer into paying you back for whatever it cost you to have the site running (domain, hosting, design, support and maintenance, good-will you've brought the company, etc).

Depending on the outcome of your chat with them, you can give a threat of bringing down the site, but before you actually pull down the site, consult you lawyer.

In any case, I wouldn't advice you pull down the site, even if your former employer proves adamant. This world, my friend, ... you never know what tomorrow will bring you.

posession is 9/10th of the law. The idiot should have at least paid you.
