Which is true for you?

a) I have never smoked.
b) I have smoked once or twice in my life.
c) I smoke only a couple of times a year.
d) I smoke at parties
e) I smoke a couple of cigarettes a week
f) I smoke a couple of cigarettes a day
g) I smoke 10-20 cigarettes a day
h) I smoke like a chimney

I tend to hover between e) and d) and most of my friends hover between d) and f)... though I have one or two friends who are definitely g).

I'm wondering if there will be a big difference here between the North Americans and others.

A

I've never smoked, nor do I see myself picking it up in the future.

I'm a b, but my partner who doesn't work is an h. It's a frequent source of fights that he just burns all my money.

Can we have an "I", for none of the above? :)

Wouldn't an I be more like either an A or B?

I'm an H.

Naw. I'm an "I". I hovered between G and H for 15 years but now I never smoke. It's all or nothing for this lady....

A

I've never smoked (apart from involuntary passive smoking from the fumes created by selfish people around me).

Kind of a C (if you substitute Cigars for Cigarettes).

b. As soon as my friends and I turned 18, we'd buy a pack of smokes when we'd go out and smoke them all at Perkins restaurant. One right after another.

That lasted for about 2 months, till our fascination with smoking was quite fulfilled and we decided never to do it again. Thankfully it was just that easy. I know its tough for some.

I'm a 'G'
Although I do roll my own with filters which in my nicotine strained mind equates to 5-10 'straights'.

b. I smoked a few in highschool. to try. and to understand. just bumbed them off other people. However I use to do my homework at a waffle house so I probably inhaled an equivalent of a pack a week in second hand smoke(back when non-smoking sections were a joke at best). It's nice that most of the resturants here now are going non-smokeing. I wish 90% would go valinterily so that the state gov would stay out.

I hope nobody starts wingeing about smokers and smoking in public. Everyone knows smoking is harmless and makes you look way cooler than your non smoker mates.

Its the only reason I smoke ;oP

And besides, if you can't smoke in a restaurant you just eat more, get fat and get heart disease anyway.

Thankfully i am alergic to cigratte smoke - in first year college where all your peers consider it as a brotherhood/macho thing i was sick of refusing the stick everytime someone passes it :) .

Alcohol? - its a whole other story :)

I quit smoking a year or two ago. Now I only smoke at webmasterworld conferences -'strue! It's the only time I'm away from my spouse long enough to stick one in my face and not get busted.

B

I think I almost hurled. Good thing to, because I have a slightly addictive personality. Plus, I have asthma.

I'm a BG (not a Bee Gee, which is something altogether more sinister). I smoked 10-20/day for a number of years, until I met my wife. She refused to date a smoker, so I quit. Her beautiful face literally saved my life.

But I'm not ready to die

I'm here for the kiss of life

Just give me the kiss of life

I - I was an H for a looong time. Incredibly foolish to have ever given up A status. All or nothing for me too on many things. (That can have a pretty potent upside though.)

I quit 3 years ago. I used to smoke about 22 cigs a day, the Marlboro/Marlboro Lite range.

edit to add:
I quit with [quitnet.com...]
