my friend gave me his resume in pdf format and now he wanted to make some changes to it.
i was converting pdf files to doc using some converter.

The pdf file has secutity of non selection of text and others only thing allowed is printing

is there any way out by which i can convert that to doc.Due to security it doesnt allow to be changed to doc.

is there any way to bypass acrobat security feature.

thanks

There are some programs to make pdf files writable again, cant remember the name of the one I used to use.

I assume he doesnt have his resume as a doc anymore...

PM'd you a link.
You also might want to try searching for PDF Password Remover if that doesn't work.

Hello Milamber:

This is an interactive board. More than one member might be able to benefit. How about posting the link for the rest of us.

Hello benevolent001:

The url policy is not hard and fast. I saw this thread before anyone else posted. If I thought it would cause a url drop-fest, I would have deleted it as soon as I saw it. I left it because I thought it would help you and other memebers. It cannot help other members if the pertinent info is sent via sticky mail.

If an improper link had been dropped, I or another mod would have done our job and taken care of it.

talk about a royal pain in the arsenal...

Have you contacted your friend to see if he knows the password?

1. Print document
2. Place document in scanner
3. Let your OCR software create a .doc file
4. Open the new file in Word and edit as required

Alternate approach:

1. Open PDF in viewer
2. Take screenshot
3. Put the resulting image through your OCR program
4. as above.

So much for copy "protection"... When will they realize that such schemes are merely irritating rather than being effective?

You can also try some alternative PDF viewers such as XPDF or Ghostview (under Linux). Sometimes you can bypass passwords. There are a few scripts around which can brute-force the password, although usually they are rather expensive.
