I went to a place named Tolstoy Farms, one of the oldest of the old hippie communes started back in the early 60's... before many of you were born, no doubt. It took most of the day before I could stop talking about web sites, but it happened. And as we watched the sun set across the canyon and started a fire in the Tipi Spot and drummed for a few hours, I finally let go of that keyboard, for just a single day.
Nice!
Grownup stuff has kept me away from the hippie communes for some years unfortunately. Though I do still have the long blond hair down to my waist.
My one disappointment - my drum head split while we were playing. Nothing worse that a drum that just goes flat. It's not all bad though. I was waiting for this opportunity, to fill in some of the 'bad-spots' around the rim. When I re-skin it now, the rim will be nice and even and smooth all around. I've already applied the wood filler. After it hardens for a few days I'll get busy sanding it all smooth again.
