David Copperfield Hawaii Illusion

I recently attended the David Copperfield show and there was this segment where he re-unites an audience member with a relative in Hawaii. Here is my take on how that illusion was performed.

the audience member is a plant. he or she is taken to "Hawaii" or some other beach place in the weeks or months prior to the show and filmed with the clothing that he or she would be wearing the day of the show. At the beach david has a "blue screen" polaroid picture and a blue screen patch on his arm which are shown and later edited in real time during the show by his crew to depict the picture snapped earlier on stage and the mark made on his arm.

He repeats this sequence with each of the audience members that he will use as he tours the country.
I say this because the person I saw during our show in Tampa Fl was wearing a bright coat on a day that was unusual to be wearing a coat at all.

Plus with technology today it would be so simple to superimpose a video image like a picture or a marking onto a blue screen. Everything though was coreographed and timed meticulously.

I think it would be a hoot if the person who is called upon to write on his arm were to autograph his forehead while they were at it hehe

Welcome dreamweaver. BTW, your first post on WW is quite interesting - I don't get it, but it's interesting. :)
