I was in Bulgaria the other day and want to open an e-gold account to pay for something. When I clicked on "i agree" it redirected to a screen saying "sorry not allowed". I checked on IM with a couple of other people in the west and they could get through. So basically all Bulgarian IP's are no good.

Also I cannot pay with paypal from my home in the Czech Republic becuause my CC is issued here. Same story in Poland! There is a huge market here and believe it or not people really have money to spend. Simply do not get it!

Have you tried iKobo? I've used it with other eastern european countries before.

Sorry, Crush, no paypal from Bulgaria :) It has been like this for ages, since many folks in Eastern Europe are known to particularly enjoy spending money on the net using stolen/forged credit cards.

Sadly, but hey, I tried to pay for a flight using a Spanish credit card once, and the BA website said: "Sorry, you have to go to Spain in order to pay with this credit card. Please have a UK cc at hand".

my 2 cents.

Had another one today. Wanted to buy a dedicated server with our bulgarian card. "ah sorry, your on our blacklist" had to use my cypriot one instead.

How about this. Last year bought a flight online in spain and then i had to go to pick it up at their office. Rather defeats the purpose of buying a flight online.

Two legs good, four legs bad.

Discriminating, ignorant fools.

What about the honest Nigerians. They will never be able to buy online.

Hey, even Canadians get a raw deal sometimes.

I had to jump thru several loops just to buy a bunch of
GBIC's, with a credit card, from a US company, and we practically the 51st state.

Try offloading those at your local tavern.

Hey buddy, want a good deal on some hot CISCO products :)

if the IP is blocked can't you just use a proxy instead?

You can use a proxy but when you fill in the card details they will reject you anyway.

Its the AVS that ussally declines the credit card, not the actual use of a proxy server. More and more companies are using Geo-Targeting by IP to reduce credit card fraud.

Damn, this is the real problem. Western Union is very expensive, but I still can not find other alternative. And WU do has it's own problems too except of the prices. Example : my real first and last names are common enough, and I personally know 2 other people with the same f.&l. names living in our city. A few years I'm being banned by WU and do not know why. Other local "twin" to blame? I do not know. WU does not ask any your unique id document, but f.,l. names and the city. Well, the other member of my family accepts payments if happens. But this is very humilating.

There's a reliable money transfer service here (Russia, Ukraine, etc postsoviet countries) - WebMoney. I wonder when they make an agreement with PP, or something else :)
