2) This adventure has a duration of 3 days and you will arrive back at your original departure point on Monday March 7th at 5:30pm. Therefore we would like to suggest that you tie up any business matters you may need to attend to at this time.
although a laptop is permitted if you so desire, you will need to consult with your guides as to when it is appropriate to use. Thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter.
3) Please make sure that you have your glasses and you wallet on your person when you meet your guides. You will be forfeiting these items upon departure. They will be returned when required.
Although you may want to ask questions of your wife or your daughter you will find this futile. No matter how many time you may find yourself saying "Ok now, I'm serious", or making the "eyebrow" face, they will not be helpful and have been sworn to secrecy.
Ok, so what the hell are these girls up too?
On Friday morning, I arrived at the front door where I was blindfolded and put into the back of a car. I figured they were going to take me to the airport. Any time I asked a question it was ignored or I was told to refer to the instruction guide. I know the route to the airport like the back of my hand and something was out of whack. They were driving me via all the back roads and even entered a few parking lots along the way to confuse me. I had no idea where the hell I was going.
Anyhow, the car stopped and I was let out of the car and the blindfold came off. We were indeed at the airport. When we went to check in, I was held back and wasnt privy to what the final destination was. This continued through customs where the customs agent played along with the game.
I was in the airport with no idea where I was going.
Only at boarding did I get a little clue. We were heading to Chicago. I pretty much figured out that that was just a connecting city and it wasnt the final destination. It was driving me mental not knowing what was going on and they were loving the fact that I was annoyed.
After a 2 hour layover in Chicago where the eyebrow face made a few appearances, it was time to board. We arrived at the gate and I discovered that we were heading to Phoenix. Hmmmm, I thought, "thats an interesting choice." Then it hit me. My in-laws have been spending part of the winter in Arizona in an RV. Hey, I love the in-laws and all that, but.... this wasnt what I was expecting.
When my daughter got the sense that this was what I was thinking, she launched into a performance that would have won an Oscar. "I cant wait to see Grandma eh Dad, isn't this just the coooolest?"
As soon as we were airborne I began to drink.
We landed in Phoenix and were wisked away in a car heading for God knows where.
We ended up here [pointesouthmtn.com]. :)
Once we checked into our room, the girls gave me another card. In it was a gift certificate to spend a full day at the Bondurant school of high performance driving [bondurant.com]. I was blown away. I spent all day Sunday driving on a race track in a 405hp ZO6 Corvette. Needless to say it was over the top fun.
How can that be possibly topped. ;)
