Tools, internet options, advanced, and then SSL 2.0; SSL 3.0; and TLS 1.0. These three things where the things that were stopping me from doing so much. I was going through customer support to customer support to customer support and the only thing I had to do was uncheck two of these boxes. What I was trying to do was install a netgear wireless router to the regular comcast modem so my laptop could work in the house as well. It just wasnt letting me until I unchecked these boxes. Why did nobody know that this is what I had to do. What are these options anyways. What is the use of them. Well I finally figured it out just because I was on a mission and checked and unchecked every single thing. It works :)

Which two did you uncheck, sadelb? My daughter is having this problem, and it costs the EARTH to call tech support in the states from Germany....

uncheck ssl 2.0 and ssl 3.0. Actually uncheck all 3. It should work for you after that. are you using the same wireless router?

Don't know what it is - came from the telecom-DE with her DSL etc....

I'll tell her. Probably can't hurt to try your trick - it can't be any worse than it is now which is not working....
