As you know one of GoDaddy.com's superbowl commercial is rejected by FOX .Here is the link to view it! ...

GoDaddy rejects [godaddy.com]

All i can say is what a tasteless ad!...

ROI from an $2.4 million superbowl commercial for a internet domain register is a whole other discussion :)

Think about it. You make a commercial (for low $$$) that you know will get rejected. The publicity of getting rejected by FOX (of all networks) gets lots of press. Hey, free publicity! Of course, many many people can't resist the urge to go see the ad hosted on, where else, GoDaddy's site. Now you got potential customers right there.

Weasels ...thank goodness I don't have any sites hosted there.

Oh my... you US-Americans take things related to sexuality waaaaay to serious. I mean, Janet's breast was not really what I call hot and arousing! I rather felt pity for her. But the witch-hunt afterwards, and this anticipatory obedience of Fox (and most likely others) - it really seems pretty strange to us "old Europeans".

Relax! Get a life!

This godaddy-ad is pretty imature. It made me smirk, but I couldn't take it serious. Why didn't they simply air it, and see how godaddy becomes the laughing stock.

Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner. However, I would would be embarrased to release such an ad.

The GoDaddy commercial was really lame. Good job if they wanted publicity, bad job if they wanted a decent commercial.

The Ghandi commercial was nice.

I wish they HAD aired it. Maybe this time the FCC would have banned television altogether.

SOOOOO glad I killed my teevee years ago. I look forward to shopping this sunday, having stores to myself.

If they had really wanted be tasteless she would have been wearing a pair of "Daisy Dukes".

Well, I just saw the ad, in it's entirety, on the 18:30 Saturday news on one of Australia's national channels - they had a 5 minute piece about it being rejected and an interview with the Godaddy.com CEO. I'm fairly sure that the person who came up with this idea gets a medal...

They were talking about it on a show here in the US this evening too. Quite the coop. It'd be interesting to see their logs both prior to the denial and since.

Zooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Glad I just wasted 37 seconds of my life. While the eye candy was nice, the commercial itself was very poor.

I'm going to go watch TV.

What a shame some companies have to rely on sex to sell stuff...sure it might work in the larger picture, but it says a lot about a company that has a product that can stand on its own and not rely on appealing to our lust. By the way, who was that girl that played Nikki? Bottom line: It works, but I do not approve of it.

Yup, they succeeded in generating quite a buzz , but they are not selling a mass market product and i doubt this can be turned to increased sales! ...

Have you guys watched the 2 minute version on Godaddy's site? It is hillarious! The 30 second version doesn't give it justice.

Looks like the second ad was pulled by NFL after the first one ran, see [bobparsons.com...] for details. They are getting some free PR, so I guess it was a hit.

I don't see what the big deal is. Its just like last year's superbowl. Everyone is upset of the mentioning of those female body parts, but then every single day I am assaulted with ads about taking pills to make my man bits bigger... geez. Why can't we Americans get over ourselves?

What a stupid commercial. The actress in the commercial is a WWE wrestler, apparently.

Americans need to get over the puritanism.

That ad was a disapointment on soooo many levels. If it wasn't for the evangelical streak that runs so deep through American society, an Ad like that wouldn't even register on anyone's radar.

Entirely true, grel, but there's no real reason for the "puritanical" to change, you know....

[BTW, I'm a Statesider - which is more accurate terminology than "American", since you by definition are an American as well - and I don't have a puritanical bone in my body. But I'm certainly NOT the norm - even for most of those who grew up in the 60s as I did.]

Canada, in general, is less puritanical, - except for certain regions. We have our own "Bible Belt" and I ahppen to live in the middle of it.

BTW: I certainly didn't mean to paint all Yankees with the same brush.

I dont think it was tasteless enough. A lot of people are just squares. Seriously, its true. I bet some people wanted to beat her with a bible, but I wanted to see the whole breast. Now that's entertainment. Art is boring. I'm on rock and roll patrol.

Ladies and Gents, please save nationalistic lectures for some forum other than Foo. Unless you want this thread closed down, that is.

Thank you, now please continue.

Well, I'd buy a domain name off her!

slinks off rebuttoning his mac...

Is it supposed to be set in Salen, MA, because of the witchtrials? Also, why does she say $8.99 when the text at the end says $3.99?

Maybe I'm just too openminded, but how is this commercial any 'worse' than others?

So what, her shirt almost falls off, not like it shows anything. She shakes her butt, wooptydoo da day. Ever watched MTV or BET over the past 5 years? Yeah. If you are worrid about your kids seeing this commercial you should monitar what they watch on there as well. Better not let them go to any school dances either...

There's nothing wrong with this commercial.

I thought it was dumb. But I liked the Pepsi ad - the one that was a take off of a Saturday Night Fever scene with Carson from Queer Eye and the cute guy;-)
