just received a call from someone in the military in Iraq wanting to place a fairly large special order. Wants it delivered to his home address in the US by Valentines's day but says he can wait if it can't be completed by then.
When the order came through via the online cart it showed a US address in LA, but the area code for the phone # on the order is in Georgia.
The IP address picked up from inside the cart is a DoD network IP.
Obviously I will call the issuing bank to check the addy/phone #, but just curious as to whether someone supposedly calling from Iraq would show a caller ID with a Kentucky area code?
For example, I get calls from my friends in the UK on my cell phone that display a number in the local area code (519) sometimes.
It's just the way the telephone switches work.
I've never had a fraudulent order that came from a DoD IP address. If it were me, I'd fufill the order.
