According to the death clock [deathclock.com], I'm not due to die until Wednesday, June 20, 2046. So no need for me to rush to get those last few posts in Foo written. :)

Interesting; the 'death clock' is a standard term of reference in science circles - and has been for a number of years. It relates to the 'pre-programmed' nature of your cell's ability to replicate themselves.

According to one such similar 'test' I did some months ago I was going to live up until the age of 86-87; even though I drink & (unfortunately) smoke...

This means that I may be posting until about 2047 - though I somehow doubt it..;-)

Hmm. Well, I'm supposed to live until late April 2048 - which means I will be about 100 years old. Interestingly enough, I have always postulated that I will live to be about 100 due to genetics: how old my parents/grandparents were when they died, and the fact that I am in EXCELLENT health, do not and never have smoked, etc. I drink beer and red wine but not to excess, do not and have never done drugs (other than alcohol, as I'm sure someone will point out), and while my coffee intake may make some people freak out, so far no one has ever shown me a medical reason for ME PERSONALLY to stop drinking it (for instance, my latest DEXA scan shows that my bones are those of a 30 year old - and that's one of the main reasons medical folks want you to stop the coffee: because it can contribute to osteoporosis. Well, it's obvious I don't have THAT problem).

In other words, I'm DISGUSTINGLY healthy. Tell you all one thing though: of all the things you can do to increase your usable healthy lifespan, the main one is judicious exercise. And do NOT neglect your mind: the more you do to expand your mental compass, the better and more fulfilling you will find a longer life.

And that's the single main reason I bless computers: other than reading, there is NO BETTER WAY to sharpen your intellect than interacting with computers and the online world-community accessible thereby.

I am going to be 103 when I die. I think this machine forget to take into account my heavy crack habit... still, keeps the weight down.

I clicked, and for what seemed like an age the 'death clock' just read:

"Seconds left to live..."

Looks like I might not wake up...

Its a really good thing I have a new computer on the way. I just spewed Pepsi all over mine!

Apparently, I will live to be 72. Quite frankly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if I make it that long, but I'll take it! :)

Idea : Portable death clock (counting down in seconds) with the message
"Live life to the fullest" on it.

I woke up! Ummm, are you going to clean that computer up or toss its Pepsi spattered carcass in the waste?
