Hi all,

How many color blind people out there work in development of websites, and what are your responsibilities?

I found an outdated thread [webmasterworld.com] on the subject, but curious to see how many more are color blind.

BTW my blindness is green to blue.

I have poor colour definition when it comes to blues, purples and greens. At my last eye test my vision came up as 20/225 in both eyes (20/20 being perfect by comparison).

I also have an eye condition which resembles retinitis pigmentosa in the peripheral (and to a lesser degree the central vision), but it's definitely linked with my migraines.

I just had an eye exam (getting LASIK is a couple of weeks) and my ability to differentiate between colors is very good.

My visual acuity (20-15 corrected, both eyes) and color acuity are more than acceptable for my age (57). I have parental/granddparental glaucoma on both sides (no evidence myself as yet) and an uncle with macular degeneration. Not one of my close relatives nor any of my ancestors as far as the info I have (about a TON - literally! - of paper!) available indicates that any of my family have had color blindness or related disorders.
