Amazon.com downgraded to "sell"

data show that use of traditional retailers' sites is increasing four times faster than the Internet retailers, according to a Smith Barney survey of 10 pure play ''e-tailers'' and 38 traditional store-based retailers. Accordingly, Lanny Baker, who follows Amazon.com for Smith Barney, has lowered his recommendation on Amazon to ''sell'' from ''hold.'' He has the shares classified as high risk.

Very interesting. Wonder if Amazon will actually start improving their affilliate program now.

Big picture: Traditional retailers are getting a better grasp of what it takes to succeed online.

If I was Bezos I would've sold a billion or so...kudos for being that way but it's not smart. Businesses fail for one reason or another.
