Gizmo quiz will be on at this time [timeanddate.com].

I'm filling in for ScottM, who has a family emergency.

I read the time wrong at work. I thought the unveiling as to be 12 hours earlier.

Let me take a wild stab anyway.

I guess its a very large vacuum tube, like the ones used in radio station transmitters.

Hi Lawman: I KNOW that. (chuckle!)

I was trying something new. I want to see how close I can get WITHOUT seeing the picture!
Anyone else want to guess in the dark?

I should add that the rusty cruddy appearance at bottom is due the
water jacket the tube rested in for cooling purposes.

The silver-copper ring 2 inches from the top is the "grid" contact. OOF I am dating myself. - Larry

Given we've started early:

Is it going to be anything to do with aviation? Or cattle husbandry? Does it spin freely?

Would you use it at a party? Is it big enough for two people to sit on?

Does the color matter? Does the strap go round your neck? Would it still work under water? Anything to do with recreational surgey?

Are the two parts joined? Is it available for export? Could I plug it into a USB port?

Am I close?
