Joe, Alex and Rex are are all engineers. They are sitting in the cockpit of a virtual simulation of a maneuverable space shuttle type vehicle they have developed. Joe has a doctorate in mathematics and has developed the multi-dimensional model of space they'll be flying through, using fractal dynamics he'll be be to alter the view of the data to any scale or location, providing relevant visualizations of the data nodes and connections between them. Alex has a doctorate in information science, specializing in differientiating normal data correlatioins from non-normal correlations. Rex, the academic underachiever has his doctorate in holography and AI-Robotics. Rex is also the pilot. Joe, Alex and Rex all work for Google. The ship they call Google Baby, or just Baby for short.

This will be their 3rd run around "The Inner Plex", That eliptical galaxy type object they can virtually fly through which represents the known internet galaxy to Google. Each object in their observable universe is bits of information, every word and all terms are associativeely bound to their kinsmen thoughout, words and terms are also associated together in pages, in a second color, and on another color the pages are linked to each other, forming sites, families, and sometimes into tribes and city-state entities. This time Rex is not wasting time and he takes Baby into a acclerating dive straight for the core of the Inner Plex. They are headed for Yahoo!. On previous missions the intensity of the emanations from Yahoo! had blinded their view screens and they had had to pull back to adjust their contrast settings, but this time they were prepared. Part of the problem was all the glare from Instant Messaging and Email, which makes Yahoo! glow like the lights of Chicago in Winter from 1000 feet the week before Christmas. This time they were going to buzz the Yahoo Directory to see what interesting topological disparities they could see between levels, a common dream they all shared.

With the email and instant messeging buttresses of lights turned off the Inner Plex is a more fragile crystal, and they see LEX's popping off from very close to more often out in the distance. (LEX are link exchange sites, they pop up out of nowhere and burst with bright linking lights out to thousands of other websites only to fade as maybe 1/4 as many link back nd the LEX dims its links to other sites that have not reciprocated. "Everytime we fly by one of these LEXes it's like New Years, champaigne and firework", chimes Rex. Rex is working on his tour dialogue for the anticipated ride he'll give Serge and Larry in the coming days.

That's all the story I can tell for now. Maybe I can pick it back up in a little while if someone else can add some more.

Theres a knock at the door, must be that pizza we ordered declares Rex.

Phut, Phut, Phut.

Three silenced shots from a Glock find their mark.

'That'll teach ya for dropping my site', crys a hitman with a north Essex accent

Story over.
