Be careful with the "I Love you's" guys

Bill Maher sued for not marrying woman ( among other things)

"alleges that Maher, 48, reneged on promises to pay her expenses and purchase a Beverly Hills home. Johnson, who says she dated Maher for 17 months before splitting from him in May, also contends that the performer promised to marry her and have children."

"I don't think I'll get married again. I'll just find a woman I don't like and give her a house."

Who's Bill Maher, and why would ANYONE care? (Excepting of course the one "he did wrong"....)

you don't have to care...it's just funny and sad at the same time.

You know what's really sad, is hundreds of regular people (men and women) go through this every day, and if they tried to sue, the judge would toss it out. Famous should not make you a target.

My husband's ex-wife promised to love him for the rest of his life and give him lots of wonderful kids. I wonder if he could sue her.

For that matter, I believe that I have had several ex-boyfriends that said something similar to me. Screw being an affiliate. I'm getting a lawyer.

In past relationships I'm sure that I've been promised "the Earth, the Moon and the Stars..." Likewise, I may even have promised them myself...

However, I never did get them - can I sue?

I guess it could get a bit complicated when, over the centuries, so many other people have been promised the same thing...

No sympathy for either party.

Don't make promises you can't keep.

Don't rely on someone you met on an airplane who wanted to use you for your good looks.

The Smoking Gun has the case documents up on their website.

"Don't make promises you can't keep. "

I hope you never change your mind after you promise a girl to marry her...or even take her out.

Dammit, I knew I'd been going wrong somewhere.

Things change. She shouldn't have relied on a man to get her what she wants in life. Only person out for you is you. ;)

On more than one occasion I told my girlfriend I wasn't going to get remarried. I'm not sure how it happened, but I've been married to her for almost 9 years. Do you think I can sue?

Probably Lawman, but there's a large chunk of contributory negligence in there unfortunately...
