...who saw it, what do you think?

I had the chance to see it at the cinema last Saturday before watching the new Bridget Jones (which is funny if you haven't read the book - comment from my GF).

So, what did you think about the trailer? How eager are you to see this final episod? I can say that I can't wait for May 2005.

Given the quality of the first two, I wish that the trilogy had just been left alone.

I'll probably go and see it, but only because it's Star Wars, not because I think it'll be a good film (quite the opposite on past performance).

The "First Two" in the new trilogy have been a complete muff, to the point where it has taken some of the shine off the original trilogy for me.

That's not to say I'm gonna be taking all my action figures and ships that I collected up during the original trilogy days to the pawn shop, but I won't waste good money going to see the latest installment in the Theatre. I'll wait for a really, REALLY dull night about this time next year and rent the video just so I can sit and shake my head at the miserable failure he's made of it.

Does this mean that it isn't funny if you have read the book, or that it's funny even if you haven't read the book?

As far as Star Wars is concerned, the second two of the original trilogy are not as good as the first, IMHO.

Ok, Geek Trivia Time:

"Unsung" Rebel Hero of the first trilogy, featured (Hollywood speak for "bit part") in all three original movies. "Red Two" in Star Wars, eventual commander of Rogue Squadron - but not until the books.

Bonus pts for the name of the actor.
(this should be easy guys)

TheDoctor,

I found it funny, my GF found it funny as well but less funny than the book (she was a tad disapointed) but it was the same with the last Harry Potter, which is nowhere near as good as the book, so I can understand how she felt.

Wedge Antilles, played by actor Denis Lawson, uncle of Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan in the prequel trilogy.

Ding-Ding-Ding!

Vamp wins a bright shiny, freshly polished and lacquered, Wooden Nickle.

Just send me $49.95 (US) for postage and handling, and it'll be on it's way :D

That sums it up for me too.
