Hello everyone,
This is my first post on your great message board. I was reading through a few posts and was wondering if there where a way that I could make an ir cell phone a tv remote. I own a Sony Ericsson T637 with Java, Bluetooth and Ir capabilities and was wondering if there as any way I could use all three technologies to make my cell phone into a tv remote.

thanks a million

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, vododaady1. If we can figure out how to come up with one of these, I can talk to my daughter in Germany at the same time I turn off the crud country/western channel on the sat tv, right?

Go for it!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The problem I have is that I'm not the most computer savy type of guy. I was wondering if anyone had a link or java program that they could send me, this way I could upload it via bluetooth to the phone. I think this could really be useful to alot of different people, think of it, imagne sitting anywhere, being able to whip our your phone and turn the damn tv off or change whatever is on.

thanks alot

An option to turn people off while they try talking to me while I watch TV would be welcomed too.

Puting them on pause would be more 'politically correct' I guess?

Anyone? ;)

"People Pause Control" [securityplanet.com]

and the slightly more politically correct "softer version" [beachcomber.com]

NB.I have no AFF status with either site ..

3rd edit .."speeling" ( and I'm still "out" on how many l's there are in English in politically ..being bi- lingual has it's downsides some days :(
