The 'project' starts tomorrow. We will move furniture... and then paint... just paint, you know? This means holding a brush or a roll and just paint all day.
This is my idea of what Hell could be.
Any idea or trick for helping a non painter to survive painting all week end?
How many fingers should I break to look credible?
She knows I am a neanderthal already.
That is why I will most probably be assigned to the roll jobs.
She will do all the nice complex texture artsty stuff after the rough job...
... but I am not allowed grotesque paint stuff in my own cave anymore.
*sniffles*
Is this thick enough?
>>you are in DEEP yogurt.
Yo! (as dyslectic raby say)
Nighthy night and thanks for the boost.

But ...
You have not mentioned the following (a mac user is not used to actually having to do multiple steps to accomplish a simple paint program like us win types):
One: is your new improved Paint Program 2004 (oil/latex/etc.) compatible with the existing installed paint.dll? (some like to curdle ... a typical win "blue screen" phenomona).
Two: have you or are you planning to properly clean the existing background-color prior to actual Paint Program 2004 installation? (win is known for lack of housecleaning and increasing clutter lowering the efficiency of new applications).
Three: have you run a test of the new background-color in situ to be confident that it will display as expected? (win users know that colours are subject to bleed-through or unique variations when combined).
Four: a mac user and an artist engaging in a M$ moment should be recorded for posterity ... might be a reality TV series in there somewhere ...
Good luck to both of you ... and my condolences to the kids for the weekend ahead.
So far so good. We agreed on all steps in less than 5 minutes. We will work in an empty room. Big or heavy stuff will stay on the same floor and all the small stuff goes downstairs except the plants.
My GF bought some good latex based Polyprep sealler. This stuff was made especially to cover graffitis. A single coat will do (Yay!).
The teens where whining about loosing the living room for a week and having to go downstairs to watch TV. It's furher away from the kitchen and they need to climb some stairs for food, so they ordered us to hurry up. I feel so guilty for making their lives so miserable.
lorax,
The dog came back this morning. Thanks for the heads up.
Let's go now!
She tried to motivate me with some Zen movement stuff, but believe it or not, the BS didn't work.
I think I rediscovered a couple of muscles in my back... a couple of hours to go after dinner and I will have a couple of nice cold ones.
Tomorrow with the background color...
Cheers!
Something innocent, like painting the dog, the plants, the carpet, tracking painted boot marks up and down the stairs..
Heheh grandpa, I confess I fear the consequences of such a move (she's small, but a lot faster than me) ;)
That is why I thought off breaking my own bones in the first place. Who would hit someone with a cast? You see, it's about 'getting involved in her projects, for a change'... see the kind of stuff?
>>Wagner power paint roller ... (not including trim)
Good tip, Hawkgirl. Thanks, I thought of renting a spray gun. Would have been a big time saver for the flat coating. I live in a old house. I was built with 11 ' ceilings using some ornamental plaster mouldings (Arches with corbels, plaques, medallions and even a niche for... ...whathever.) The job is about 15 % preparation, 60 % trimming and 'patine and pochoir' or whathever artsy stuff, 15 % puting everything back in there, and rolling gets the little rest.
It's a very nice place, but only 360 days a year... :)
#1..Latex
#2..Rastafarian tabacco substitute ( I'm just guessing here ;) and V can show you the old neighbours place if you run out ..
#3..Redhead
#4..Marmite
#5..Food of the "chocolate chip icecream" genus
#6..Electrical or mechanical paint distribution tools
I cant see why you won't have a ball..
Ok maybe you won't be able to post the pictures here ..but I guess we could download them from the "usual place" on your site ;)
